A record player is a machine that plays records, which are discs that have been recorded with music or speech. A record player has something called a "turntable." A turntable goes around and around with the record on it. While the record turns, a special "needle" attached to a kind of "arm" picks up the recorded sounds and sends them to a speaker so you can hear them.
We found an old record player in my grandmother's basement. Now we need to find a record to see if it still works.
