fungi, funguses |
definition: |
A fungus is a kind of living thing that is similar to a plant but is not really a plant. A fungus can't make its own food the way a plant does. It has to eat other things, such as dead plants. There are many different kinds of funguses, or "fungi." People can eat certain kinds of them. Some other kinds of fungi are dangerous, though.
I saw a big, red fungus growing on an old dead tree in the woods. My dad said not to touch it.
